Welcome to my studio’s “journal”! I’m still finding my journaling voice, I guess is the way to put it. I’m taking baby steps in figuring out what to write and what to post and not post. I wasn’t sure if I should post any of my family, but, they’re my life, especially since I recently had another baby, so expect more of my two girls soon! And I’ll find a different place to post my ‘going green’ stuff – it’s also a part of my life, but it fits elsewhere.
More about me? I’m a wedding photojournalist and lifestyle portrait photographer. I love my job – meeting newly engaged couples, capturing wedding day emotions, meeting business owners for their promotional portraits (and even food shots! yummy…), and I love getting to know families and seeing their children grow. It’s been a rewarding and fulfilling career. Photography has grown for me from seeing my mom capture lightning storms from the shelter of our garage, to being the go-to-person-for-good-pictures for my soccer team’s Scandinavian trip in junior high, to high school yearbook photojournalism, to college art classes mixed into my biochemistry and environmental science degree classes and field research trip to Cameroon, to seeing a potential career in the field when I met and was mentored by local photographer, Phyllis Lane. I can’t wait to see where my photography takes me next. I truly enjoy capturing moments and the expressions of the wonderful people that I meet. I am so grateful to everyone that has let me into their life!
